Floppy Heroes is a game based on physics, where you fight in zero gravity. Because you can’t fully control your heroes, you have to be even more alert and react as quick as possible. Your task in this game is simple – to kill all your enemies, but to achieve that isn’t that easy. In single-player mode you are on your own, in multi-player you can built a team of up to 6 local players (2 on the keyboard + 4 gamepads). Floppy Heroes also offers different variations of multi-player mode: all vs titan, all vs all or a tournament. What Floppy Heroes forgot is to add a co-op option into Single-player mode. You can play co-op in Custom Game-modes, but levels don’t gradate there. I personally find co-op + level gradation very important to keep players motivated in this types of games.
Right at the outset I must say that I have doubted for a long time if I really want to review the King Oddball game. Don’t take me wrong, the game itself is good, but I personally felt like a donkey, when I was playing it. The feeling, when you spend so much time on something and you can’t vanquish it, is very frustrating. Well, I didn’t complete King Oddball by the end, but I did my best to gather as many information as I could to be able to introduce King Oddball to you and also to review it.
What is King Oddball about?
King Oddball will most likely remind you the much more famous game Angry Birds. Just like Angry Birds King Oddball is a game based on physics and accuracy with some differences of course. In Angry Birds you have a group of different birds with a story about saving the stolen eggs. In King Oddball you are a king big as a tank, who flies on the sky, have a stone helm and want to destroy the world. Soldiers, tanks, helicopters and a lot of blocking materials will make your attempt to destroy the world harder.
If you don’t belong to those, who can dance in the real life and you are rather among those, who could unleash their dance moves only on the kid’s party as a clown, then Conga Master is a perfect game for you!
Conga Master is a game which may remind you of an old game Snake on the first sight. Snake is probably best known to users of old Nokia mobile phones. But there are differences! In Conga Master you won’t be eating yummy things like poor mice. You have to do something that I personally call “the ritual dancing around your victim”. Why? Because dancing in Conga Master is in fact the only way to enlarge your size! If you dance around your victim long enough, the victim will then join you as the dance partner and with a newly charged power you can happily dance in circular motions to catch someone else. There’s another slight difference between Snake and Conga Master. In Conga Master you can’t bump into people who aren’t part of your dance team. If you do, it will cancel all gained sympathy (if there’s any) and you have to gain their interest again. Conga Master is about accuracy and if that wasn’t enough, there’s a time limit which is called Momentum. Momentum is always precisely defined at the beginning of each level (it’s always the same excluding bonuses) and it starts to decline gradually. Momentum is recharged with each newly gained dancing victim, who has joined your team. Later it won’t be enough to get one dancer to recharge Momentum, but you will need to get two or more dancers at a time to recharge the same part of the Momentum. Shooting Stars! is a game on the principle of a very old game named Space Invaders, where you move around with your hero on the game screen always of the same size and a lot of enemies in various battle formations flow towards you. Shooting Stars! is indeed funnier than Space Invaders! Authors had replaced the alien attack on the planet Earth with aliens controlling current trendy stars and meme stars.
In Shooting Stars! you are playing as courageous hero named Tscherno. Tscherno’s equipment is his white kitty, which can shoot laser from its eyes. To move around the game screen Tscherno uses hoverboard, which looks like it was from Back To The Future movie. This is definitely very original compared to the Space Invaders!
SKYHILL is a 2D action roguelike survival RPG game, where hunger is your top enemy. You don’t care if you have to kill an ugly stinking mutant for dog food. You will kill it. And you will gladly eat each granule that’s left. Your apartment is in the VIP 100th floor of the Skyhill hotel, you’ve just witnessed the start of a bio-nuclear war and you were lucky enough to survive thanks to the latest biological defense system in your room. You’re alive, not infested and running out of supplies. Do you have balls big enough to go down?
Dungeon Rushers is a 2D tactical RPG game which combines dungeon crawling with turn-based fights. Progressively you will be able to choose from 10 different characters and maximal capacity of one team is 5 “heroes”. Why those quotation marks? It’s because you won’t play as heroes but you will play as their funny parodies. Comparing to the game Heroes & Legends: Conquerors of Kolhar, which incidentally is on the same basis, Dungeon Rushers has a funny start and overall has interesting story to tell. I personally think that catchy story is really important in RPG games. The plot is one of the main reasons why people don’t quit playing them. Yes, there are exceptions like Rogue Legacy, where the gameplay is assured by great levelling mechanism and randomly generated castles, so developers could afford only minimalistic storyline.
Plantera is a colorful casual clicker game full of adorable animals. It’s really relaxing and a good mood booster. Even if the weather outside is grey and gloomy, with Plantera your room will shine in the darkest darkness.
Beauty in simplicity
Plantera is a great example of how nice can pixel graphic look like. It’s not too detailed nor too simple. Animations are flawless and the music will sometimes make you bob to the beat. Everything is appropriate. Continue reading Plantera – PC Game Review→
Toadled is a casual singleplayer action clicker game with super cute frog in the leading role. Well, not that cute anymore as it evolve. It’s very hungry and eating insect isn’t enough to fill its stomach. As the evolution goes – What is nature pyramid? Or the food chain? Or even life pyramid? Pfff. Nothing applies to hungry toad. It eats whatever it wants.
