The Little Acre – PC Game Preview (Teaser review)

What is The Little Acre

The Little Acre is a nice indie adventure with original hand-drawn graphic and animations and layered environment. The released date is planned on 13th December, but the teaser version is already available for someone. The gameplay length of teaser version is shortened to about 1 hour. But even that little bit, that developers had willingly exposed, is enough to gain The Little Acre attention. The story revolves around a seemingly normal family of three. Grandpa Arthur (a passionate engineer and inventor), his son Aidan and granddaughter Lily live together in a small house in the country. The peaceful country life is spoiled by grandfather’s disappearance and Aidan’s long-term unemployment. Aidan after discovering a promising track to his grandfather decides to go and find him. Not long after that Lily finds the track too and thus everyone finds themselves in a completely different world.

Dead Age – PC Game Review

What is Dead Age?

Dead Age is a strategy game about surviving in the world full of living dead. Can you cope in chaos? Can you survive in the hopelessness? Do you like tough decisions and can you withstand the consequences? Are you fans of the zombie classic The Walking Dead? In that case you definitely have to try Dead Age. I personally appreciate that Dead Age’s gaming mechanism is totally different from The Walking Dead series. Dead Age is a combination of old school and modern trends. Good old turn-based fights require a plan, a strategy and fast response in order to survive with minimal losses and while being useful to your blooming community. Dead Age will torment you with a lot of factors. How will you deal with daily fear of your bare life? How will you deal with the loss of those closest to you? And how long will you survive?

Sweet Volley High – PC Game Review

What is Sweet Volley High

Sweet Volley High is a romantic visual novel with predominantly lesbian characters. The authors did indeed add a heterosexual relationship, but it’s pretty obvious that they prefer homosexuality. As in most visual novels developers has also chosen anime style and stories are therefore set into a typical anime environment and time (as the name suggests, Sweet Volley High) – High School, penultimate and final year. You will be playing as a young student of Arts High School – Aya Mizuki, who lives in Tokyo with her mom in a small traditional flat. As it’s customary in Japan Aya is also a member of a club as a part of extracurricular activities. How did a well-developed, not too sporty introvert book-lover like her end up in a sport club? It’s up to you to find out!

Slayaway Camp – PC Game Review

What is Slayaway Camp

Slayaway Camp is a logic 2.5D puzzle game in voxel graphic. This game is a proof that the job as a serial killer of young teenagers isn’t for everybody. Every multiple-murder requires carefully planned steps. And where is the largest concentration of teenagers without caring supervision? Of course in summer camps! You just need an image of horror, a few brutal murderous techniques and let’s get started. Slayaway Camp is sympathetically divided into short levels with 10 or more sublevels. Menu is in the style of a video store specializing in the horror comedy as The Final Girls or Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland. Each level represents one film and every film has its own homicidal maniac. With each completed level you’ll get a main anti-hero as one of the collectible elements in this game. Of course, you can freely choose from collected characters and play with them even in other films.

Crazy Fun – FootRock – PC Game Review

Have you ever wanted to try what it’s like to be an American football player? Yes? Then you’re unlucky, this game doesn’t let you do that! Well, maybe I was too mean for the beginning. But if you want to fictitiously try what are the required running skills of the American football players, so the game Crazy Fun – FootRock enables you to experience that. Really? Nope. I made you excited in vain again, because in Crazy Fun – FootRock you only run with a figure illustrating the NFL player over the entire playing field, which is littered with various obstacles and your task is to successfully reach the end of the playing field.

Floppy Heroes – PC Game Review

What is Floppy Heroes

Floppy Heroes is a game based on physics, where you fight in zero gravity. Because you can’t fully control your heroes, you have to be even more alert and react as quick as possible. Your task in this game is simple – to kill all your enemies, but to achieve that isn’t that easy. In single-player mode you are on your own, in multi-player you can built a team of up to 6 local players (2 on the keyboard + 4 gamepads). Floppy Heroes also offers different variations of multi-player mode: all vs titan, all vs all or a tournament. What Floppy Heroes forgot is to add a co-op option into Single-player mode. You can play co-op in Custom Game-modes, but levels don’t gradate there. I personally find co-op + level gradation very important to keep players motivated in this types of games.

King Oddball – PC Game Review

Right at the outset I must say that I have doubted for a long time if I really want to review the King Oddball game. Don’t take me wrong, the game itself is good, but I personally felt like a donkey, when I was playing it. The feeling, when you spend so much time on something and you can’t vanquish it, is very frustrating. Well, I didn’t complete King Oddball by the end, but I did my best to gather as many information as I could to be able to introduce King Oddball to you and also to review it.

What is King Oddball about?

King Oddball will most likely remind you the much more famous game Angry Birds. Just like Angry Birds King Oddball is a game based on physics and accuracy with some differences of course. In Angry Birds you have a group of different birds with a story about saving the stolen eggs. In King Oddball you are a king big as a tank, who flies on the sky, have a stone helm and want to destroy the world. Soldiers, tanks, helicopters and a lot of blocking materials will make your attempt to destroy the world harder.

Conga Master – PC Game Review

If you don’t belong to those, who can dance in the real life and you are rather among those, who could unleash their dance moves only on the kid’s party as a clown, then Conga Master is a perfect game for you!

Conga Master PC game
Conga Master: Working on a combo.

Conga Snake?

Conga Master is a game which may remind you of an old game Snake on the first sight. Snake is probably best known to users of old Nokia mobile phones. But there are differences! In Conga Master you won’t be eating yummy things like poor mice. You have to do something that I personally call “the ritual dancing around your victim”. Why? Because dancing in Conga Master is in fact the only way to enlarge your size! If you dance around your victim long enough, the victim will then join you as the dance partner and with a newly charged power you can happily dance in circular motions to catch someone else. There’s another slight difference between Snake and Conga Master. In Conga Master you can’t bump into people who aren’t part of your dance team. If you do, it will cancel all gained sympathy (if there’s any) and you have to gain their interest again. Conga Master is about accuracy and if that wasn’t enough, there’s a time limit which is called Momentum. Momentum is always precisely defined at the beginning of each level (it’s always the same excluding bonuses) and it starts to decline gradually. Momentum is recharged with each newly gained dancing victim, who has joined your team. Later it won’t be enough to get one dancer to recharge Momentum, but you will need to get two or more dancers at a time to recharge the same part of the Momentum.
