When my husband bought himself a New Nintendo 3DS XL Monster Hunter edition, he thought I might like to own one too. It was Tuesday 25th July when we decided to go for a New Nintendo 2DS XL that would be available on 28th July in Czech Republic. The specs are pretty much the same as New N3DS XL and it even uses the same software, but it is cheaper (around 180 USD, N3DS XL 240 USD) and doesn’t have 3D function. It’s not a big deal not playing games in 3D, because I wear dioptric glasses and thus I don’t seek for 3D. Don’t get me wrong you don’t need 3D glasses to play 3D games on New N3DS XL obviously. It’s just when I stare at a flat screen I want to see flat 2D content, seeing 3D makes my eyes hurt. What also worth mentioning that New N2DS XL includes AC adapter, New N3DS XL doesn’t.

So we pre-ordered the New Nintendo 2DS XL with Pokémon X (3DS), Pokémon Y (3DS) and Yo-kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits (3DS). There was also a gift for pre-orders – a double-sided console bag. One side is turquoise and the other side is orange – that’s because New N2DS XL can be purchased in two different colour combos: Black & Turquoise and White & Orange. Do you wonder which one we got? Black & Turquoise of course! White on consoles is just so unstable (it turns unpleasantly yellow as the time flows), “unclean” (everything is visible on white) and hard to maintain. On the other hand black… remains black. Got it?
After 2 weeks of using New N2DS XL I just fell in love with it! It’s fun to play games on New Nintendo 2DS XL. They are so specific and Pokémon are for ever-living classic. Portable Nintendo consoles take you to the whole new world. It doesn’t matter that Nintendo consoles doesn’t feature the best and newest graphic in the world. It’s about the know-how and I like how different Nintendo is from e.g. XBOX and PlayStation. I love it so much that I’ve decided to spend another 185 USD on these games: Pokémon Moon (3DS), Pokémon Omega Ruby (3DS), Pokémon Alpha Sapphire (3DS), The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (3DS), The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (3DS) and Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends (3DS).
